About Us
Family Hubs are part of Kent County Council's commitment to helping children, young people (aged 0-19, or up to 25 for those with SEND) and their families access the right support, at the right time, in the right place.
Our Family Hubs bring together services and professionals who work alongside local communities to provide information, advice, guidance and support for families. We work closely with health, education and community partners to ensure families can access a wide range of services under one roof.
About The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Business Support Officer to join our Family Hubs team based in Swanley.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of services to children, young people and families across the Sevenoaks District. As the first point of contact for many families, partners and visitors, you will help ensure our Family Hubs provide a welcoming, professional and supportive environment.
No two days are the same. One day you may be greeting visitors and supporting a busy community event, whilst the next you could be coordinating meetings, processing financial transactions, updating systems, producing reports or supporting managers with administrative tasks.
The successful candidate will be based primarily in Swanley; however, there is an expectation that you will travel to Edenbridge Family Hub at least once each week, with additional travel required at times to provide cover during periods of annual leave, sickness absence or service demand.
Working closely with managers, practitioners and partners, you will provide comprehensive administrative and business support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of Family Hub services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
