The Role
The role will involve:
- Acting under the direction of the Fair Access Co-Ordinator, to provide the full range of Business and Administrative support to the Sandwell Fair Access Team and the wider School Admissions Service.
- Carrying out finance related tasks to support the smooth running of panels and the team.
- Supporting the Fair Access Service within the School Admissions Service.
- Dealing with enquiries in relation to children whose cases are referred to Fair Access.
Key Duties
- Dealing with internal / external enquiries by telephone / in person via the Council’s One Stop Shop.
- Inputting data / importing information / preparation of spreadsheets.
- Preparing, producing and sending letters to parents / carers.
- Photocopying / scanning / filing.
- Delivering an excellent customer service to parents / carers, schools and other agencies.

Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3/equivalent or above in a relevant area (e.g. Business Administration) or relevant experience.
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong administrative and data management skills.
- Experienced in taking accurate minutes and compiling confidential reports.
- Skilled in maintaining and updating confidential electronic and manual records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
- Experienced in using information management systems to retrieve, manage and analyse information and data.
- Competent in raising invoices, processing credit notes and placing purchase orders.

37 Hours Term Time + 5 days
