About this role

As a member of LRQA’s Fisheries Team, the Fisheries Business Support role reports to the Fisheries Manager.

The role’s core responsibilities relate primarily to the support of the Fisheries Team in delivery of the certification schemes, primarily MSC Fisheries, and Marin Trust. Mainly in the management of subcontractors, and input and maintenance of the platforms used by the team for audit planning and financial reporting.

The Fisheries Business Support role is also expected to support LRQA’s Quality Team and the Fisheries team in ensuring that documentation, control manuals and operating procedures related to fisheries schemes are fit for purpose and comply with accreditation body and scheme owner requirements where these responsibilities extend to contributing to internal and external audit and review processes as required

Technical/Professional Qualifications/Requirements:

Required:

  • A strong grasp of administrative programmes/software and database management.
  • Able to work both as part of a team and, where required, without supervision including prioritising, planning, and scheduling work effectively.
  • Analytical approach to work and excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working with finance platforms

Desirable:

  • An interest in marine science/aquaculture.
  • Experience with administering company compliance requirements.
  • Prior experience of accredited certification schemes and auditing, particularly in schemes such as Marine Stewardship Council or Marin Trust.
  • Second or subsequent languages (other than English).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office.
  • Flexible approach to working hours where required.
