Business Systems Analyst

Salary: £42,000 - £47,000 per annum
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey – hybrid working available
Contract: Full-time, permanent

We are delighted to be working with a well-established UK charity to recruit a Business Systems Analyst to join their small IT and Business Systems team.

This is a broad, varied role for an inquisitive and solutions-focused systems professional who enjoys understanding how an organisation works, asking the right questions and finding practical ways that technology, systems and data can improve it.

About the organisation

Our client is a long-established UK charity dedicated to supporting people working in, or retired from, the horticultural sector and their families.

They provide free and confidential advice, practical assistance and financial support to people facing difficult or life-changing circumstances, covering areas including financial wellbeing, health, housing, redundancy, bereavement, retirement and career development.

Alongside its charitable work, the organisation operates a number of gardens which welcome visitors and generate trading income to support its wider activities. This creates an interesting systems environment spanning both beneficiary services and commercial operations.

The role

Working as part of a small team of three, you'll help manage and improve the organisation's core business systems, ensuring they are reliable, user-friendly and aligned with operational needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

They are looking for a good all-rounder rather than someone operating within a narrow technical specialism. Experience working in a smaller IT or systems team would be particularly useful, where you're comfortable wearing different hats and taking ownership.

Importantly, the focus is on finding someone with strong analysis and problem-solving skills to complement the existing strengths within the team. You'll be naturally inquisitive, able to understand business problems and user requirements, and confident identifying practical improvements to systems and processes.

You'll work across CRMs, Point of Sale and Microsoft 365, as well as data, reporting, dashboards and integrations. Responsibilities will include user support and training, system improvements, testing and implementation, data quality, access management and working with external suppliers and technology partners.

About you

You'll ideally have experience in a Business Systems Analyst, systems support or business-facing IT role, with exposure to systems such as CRMs, case management, Point of Sale or stock control.

You'll have a good understanding of databases, data quality, reporting and integrations.

Knowledge of SQL, Power BI or APIs would be useful, alongside strong Microsoft 365 skills. Experience with Power Platform, Azure/Entra, Purview or Copilot would be advantageous.

Just as importantly, you'll be an analytical, curious and practical problem-solver who communicates well with non-technical colleagues. You'll be self-motivated and comfortable working independently while contributing to a close-knit team.

Salary & benefits

The role offers a salary of £42,000 - £47,000 per annum and is full-time and permanent, with benefits including:

  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with long service
  • Hybrid working
  • Flexible working hours considered
  • Employer pension contributions
  • Sick pay
  • Death in service benefit of 3x salary
  • Family-friendly policies, including additional unpaid leave, time off for dependants and flexibility around working hours
  • Private health care option available after probation completed

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety and ownership of working within a small systems team and wants to bring strong analytical thinking to a friendly, purpose-driven organisation.
