About the Role
As a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) within Finova's MSO team, you will play a key role in the analysis, design, and delivery of functional solutions for complex mortgage origination platforms. Reporting to the Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and stakeholder engagement, working across multiple concurrent agile delivery squads. Your core purpose is to translate product requirements, feature definitions, and integration needs into rock-solid technical specifications and process models that engineering teams can build with confidence.
About you
- Financial Services & Lending Expertise: Proven track record as a Business Systems Analyst, ideally in a financial services, fintech or regulated environment.
- Technical & Integration Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, XML and JSON/YAML data structures. Combined with a practical understanding of RESTful API specifications, system integration patterns and cloud-based architecture.
- Analytical Deliverables & Methodologies: Strong command of the full Software Development Life Cycle. Skilled in process mapping, data modelling, use case creation and defining precise acceptance criteria and test strategies within Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
- Collaboration & Continuous Learning: A collaborative approach to working within and across squads with a willingness to share knowledge, contribute to analytical best practices and keep developing your craft.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Able to articulate complex system concepts to both technical teams and senior non-technical executives and to engage directly with clients and internal Technical Consultants to agree requirements.
- Problem-Solving & Modern Tooling: Structured, adaptable problem solver comfortable navigating ambiguity and adept at leveraging AI and automation tools to increase analytical speed and accuracy.

What will you be doing?
- Requirements Analysis & Specification: Work with Product Owners, Technical Consultants and clients to define requirements for new features and third-party integrations. Producing the supporting documentation.
- Gap Analysis & Solution Design: Analyse new requirements against existing system capabilities to identify the data, User Interface and process changes needed to deliver them. Ensuring solutions align with business needs, regulatory standards, and Finova's architectural principles.
- BAU & Production Support: Support routine maintenance and upgrades as well as minor enhancements and bug fixes. Help resolve production incidents and contribute to post-incident reviews. Look for ways to optimise existing system capabilities to enhance performance and usability.
- Cross-Squad Collaboration & Testing: Partner closely with Engineers, Product Managers and Technical Delivery Managers across multiple concurrent delivery squads. Manage dependencies and refine backlogs to support delivery. Support system integration testing and wider testing as required.
- Regulatory Compliance & Modernisation: Ensure all functional deliverables adhere to financial compliance and audit-readiness standards, while actively integrating AI and automation tooling to streamline analytical workflows.
