Business Systems Analyst

Manchester | £40,000 - £50,000 | Hybrid Working (1 day a week in the office)

We're looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join a growing digital team, playing a key role in the delivery and enhancement of customer-facing digital platforms and business-critical systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology, helping to deliver system improvements, optimise processes, and support key change initiatives. You'll work closely with stakeholders, product teams, developers and testers to ensure solutions are aligned with business needs and deliver real value.

You'll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and process mapping through to testing and implementation, helping to shape digital solutions that improve both user experience and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis activities within an Agile software development team.
  • Gather, analyse and document business and system requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings and requirements gathering sessions.
  • Produce process maps and document current and future-state business processes.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Developers and Testers to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
  • Support solution design and contribute to discussions around process and system improvements.
  • Assist with system testing activities, including system testing, integration testing and UAT.
  • Support the implementation of new functionality and system enhancements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to optimise systems and processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills.
  • Experience working within Agile environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
  • Experience producing user stories, process maps and business requirements documentation.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence and Microsoft Office.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with CMS platforms.
  • Exposure to digital products, websites or customer-facing platforms.
  • Experience within regulated or public sector environments.
  • Formal Business Analysis qualifications such as BCS or Agile BA.
