At Babcock, we’re looking for Business Systems Analysts – Engineering at all levels to join our growing team. These roles offer hybrid working, with opportunities available across the UK.

The role

As a Business Systems Analyst – Engineering, you’ll be at the heart of the digital systems that enable our engineering teams to deliver complex, mission-critical programmes.

Whether you’re developing your expertise or bringing significant experience at Senior or Principal level, you’ll become a specialist in engineering software used across Babcock. You’ll analyse, develop, maintain and support applications across defence, aerospace and engineering, identifying opportunities to improve performance and deliver better solutions for our users.

Working alongside a collaborative team of specialists, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your expertise, influence how our engineering systems evolve and see the impact of your work across the business.

Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities and level of technical leadership will vary, but day-to-day you could be:

  • Analysing, designing and configuring engineering software applications to meet business and operational needs
  • Delivering application improvements, system changes and project-based enhancements
  • Providing second and third-line application support, helping to maintain system reliability, performance and availability
  • Working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate requirements into effective solutions
  • Ensuring applications and solutions align with defined strategies, roadmaps and architectural principles
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and the overall user experience
  • Collaborating with colleagues and technical specialists to resolve complex issues and deliver continuous improvement

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working.

Essential experience of the Business Systems Analyst

  • Experience managing and maintaining IT or business system solutions
  • Understanding of engineering or technical software environments
  • Basic knowledge of one or more of the following: Computer Aided Design, Product Lifecycle Management, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Design Analysis, or Integrated Logistic Support
  • Experience working within a structured IT or digital delivery environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
