About the Role

Nationwide Air Conditioning is an employee-owned HVAC contractor delivering turnkey retrofit and design-and-build projects from £50k to £3m, often in live, occupied buildings.

Our business systems and IT are currently supported by two external suppliers, one for general IT and one for Business Central. This is the first internal appointment to that function. You will own the Microsoft estate: Business Central, its integration with the Solarvista field service platform, the Microsoft 365 and Azure tenancy, the APIs that connect them, and day to day IT support for approximately 50 office users.

The split is approximately 70 percent business systems and integration, 30 percent IT support. External specialists are retained for security incident response. What moves in house is ownership: routine operations, first-line resolution, requirements and testing, and management of the suppliers who remain.

You will work alongside our AI Systems Engineer, providing the APIs and data access that our Knowledge Transfer Partnership and AI development work depend on.

Responsibilities

Business Central and Integrations

  • Act as system owner for Dynamics 365 Business Central across finance, projects, service, and purchasing
  • Manage user setup, permission sets, and approval workflows, including quote and purchase approval limits
  • Monitor and recover job queues, including defect processing and contract and PPM job generation
  • Maintain and improve the Business Central and Solarvista interface, including defect records and job creation
  • Build and document APIs, app registrations, and OData endpoints for other systems and for AI development
  • Manage extensions such as Continia, the Microsoft release cycle, and sandbox testing before production release
  • Define requirements, test, and accept any development carried out by an external partner
  • Maintain dimensions, master data, role centres, and Power BI reporting

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Microsoft 365, Azure, and IT Support

  • Administer the Microsoft 365 tenant: Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune
  • Administer Azure subscriptions and cost management, and manage Microsoft licensing across the estate
  • Set up and decommission users end to end, including accounts, licences, mailboxes, and Business Central profiles
  • Provide first and second line support, setup and issue devices, and maintain the IT asset register
  • Build Power Platform automations where they remove manual administrative effort
  • Manage the remaining IT and Business Central supplier relationships

Security and Continuity

  • Own Cyber Essentials certification and the technical controls behind the company cyber insurance
  • Act as first responder for suspected security incidents, escalating to the specialist supplier for remediation
  • Own backup, restore testing, and disaster recovery for Microsoft workloads and business data
  • Govern API and application permissions, so elevated access is granted only on a reviewed and recorded basis

First Three Months

  • Month 1: document the estate, take over user administration, licensing, and first line support, and establish a single record of IT and systems requests
  • Month 2: take over Business Central administration and the Solarvista interface, test backup and restore, and establish the change and release process
  • Month 3: hold routine operations independently, agree a forward development plan, and agree revised supplier terms

Essential Experience and Skills

  • 3 to 5 years with Dynamics 365 Business Central in an administration, support, or consulting role
  • Configuration experience across at least two modules, and practical experience of user setup, permission sets, approval workflows, and job queues
  • System integration experience: REST APIs, OData, JSON, and OAuth 2.0
  • Microsoft 365 administration, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Intune
  • Working knowledge of Azure, including subscriptions, app registrations, and cost management
  • Hands-on IT support: user setup, device builds, and fault diagnosis
  • Comfortable as the only person in the function, clear about when to escalate, and willing to hold suppliers to account
  • Documents work properly rather than holding knowledge personally
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • AL development for Business Central extensions
  • Experience with Continia or a comparable document capture add-on
  • Experience integrating a field service or job management platform with an ERP
  • Power Platform: Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI
  • Cyber Essentials experience, and working knowledge of firewalls and network fault diagnosis
  • Microsoft certifications such as MB-800, AZ-104, or MS-102
  • Experience in construction, building services, M&E, or another field service business

Location and Development

Hybrid, based at Edenbridge or London, with occasional travel between the two. Remote working can be discussed, on the understanding that device builds and hands-on support need regular presence where staff are based.

This is a newly created role and the person appointed will define how it operates. We support Microsoft certification and relevant training, and as the company grows towards £30 million turnover by 2030 there is scope to develop into a broader systems lead position.
