Business Teacher / Head of Business (HOD) | Brentwood | January 2027 Start
Are you an ambitious Business Teacher ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking an outstanding Business Teacher or experienced Head of Business to join an Outstanding secondary school in Brentwood from January 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Business specialist to lead a successful department or further develop their leadership experience within a high-performing school. You will play a key role in shaping the Business curriculum, driving academic excellence, and inspiring students to achieve exceptional outcomes.
The Role | Business Teacher / Head of Business
- Full-time Business Teacher / Head of Business role from January 2027
- Lead and develop the Business department across Key Stages 4 and 5
- Deliver engaging and academically rigorous Business lessons
- Drive outstanding teaching and learning across the department
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to maximise achievement
- Support, coach and develop colleagues within the Business team
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental improvement initiatives
- Promote a culture of high expectations and academic success

About You
- PGCE with QTS from a leading UK university
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or a related subject from a recognised UK university
- Strong academic background with excellent subject knowledge
- Proven success teaching Business Studies at KS4 and KS5
- Previous leadership experience is desirable for Head of Department applicants
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A genuine passion for Business education and student achievement
- High expectations of students and a commitment to securing outstanding outcomes
- Strong organisational, leadership and interpersonal skills
