About AMAG
AMAG Technology is a market leader in the design and manufacture of physical security systems. Our innovative products deliver technology solutions for a wide range of organisations, from small businesses to some of the world’s largest companies.
Overall Objective of Role
Our Business Technology function supports the organisation across the UK and US, spanning Microsoft 365, Azure, Dynamics Great Plains, data and reporting platforms, and the applications that run the business. This role will take ownership of day-to-day support for UK users and business applications, working alongside GadellNet, our US-based Managed Services Provider. The role also delivers project work across digital transformation, AI adoption, Microsoft platforms, and the SQL Server-based systems behind core business applications. As a key, hands-on member of a small, close-knit team, you will enjoy a mix of solving today's problem and building tomorrow's improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide responsive day-to-day support for UK users and business applications, resolving escalations and issues outside GadellNet’s core US infrastructure remit.
- Own and progress line-of-business application tickets, coordinating with GadellNet where support or project work overlaps with their scope.
- Deliver project work across Microsoft 365, Azure, Dynamics Great Plains, and other business systems, including migrations, integrations, and process improvements.
- Contribute directly to digital transformation initiatives by identifying opportunities to automate, streamline, and modernise how the business uses technology.
- Support the practical adoption of AI tools across the business, helping colleagues use existing AI features and supporting the rollout of new tools.
- Build lightweight AI-assisted tools, automations, and integrations to support reporting, data access, and everyday business processes.
- Read, write, and troubleshoot SQL queries to support existing applications, reporting, and data investigations, including Dynamics Great Plains.
- Act as an informal mentor to a junior colleague by reviewing work, sharing knowledge, and helping them take on more complex project work over time.
- Liaise professionally with GadellNet on shared tickets, escalations, and consultancy-based project work to ensure a joined-up service.
- Maintain clear documentation for systems, processes, and support procedures.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and tools, bringing recommendations to the team where they could benefit the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
