Business Transformation Consulting Manager – GBS & Finance

Salary: £60,000–£70,000 + bonus and benefits

Location: UK – Hybrid, with UK and European client travel

Employment: Permanent

The Opportunity

We are working with an established international management consultancy that is expanding its Business Transformation practice.

This is a client-facing Manager position focused on helping major organisations transform their Global Business Services, Shared Services and corporate functions.

You will work with senior stakeholders to assess existing operations, design improved operating models and deliver transformation programmes from strategy through to implementation.

The work will span Finance, GBS, Digital and wider support-function transformation, helping clients improve efficiency, reduce costs and deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead transformation projects and individual workstreams from planning through to execution
  • Assess existing GBS, Shared Services and Finance operations
  • Design and implement target operating models
  • Lead client workshops, interviews and working sessions
  • Produce high-quality recommendations, presentations and project deliverables
  • Support change management and senior stakeholder engagement
  • Improve business processes, organisational structures and service delivery
  • Contribute to ERP and Finance-system transformation programmes
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders
  • Identify additional opportunities within existing client accounts
  • Support proposals, solution development and business development activity

Essential Experience

  • Experience delivering business transformation projects within a consulting environment
  • Strong knowledge of Global Business Services or Shared Services
  • Good understanding of core Finance processes, including:
    • Procure to Pay – P2P
    • Order to Cash – O2C
    • Record to Report – R2R
    • Financial Planning and Analysis – FP&A
  • Experience designing or implementing Finance operating models
  • Strong business transformation and programme management capability
  • Experience leading client workshops and working with senior stakeholders
  • Change management and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Ability to turn strategic recommendations into practical implementation plans
  • Experience working with UK, European or international clients
  • Commercial awareness and experience supporting proposals or account growth

Desirable Experience

  • ERP or Finance-system transformation experience
  • Knowledge of SAP, Oracle or similar enterprise platforms
  • Awareness of HR, IT or Procurement processes
  • Experience working across multiple sectors or business functions
  • Knowledge of automation, digital transformation and emerging GBS trends

About You

You will be comfortable moving between strategic discussions and hands-on project delivery.

You can engage confidently with senior stakeholders, challenge established ways of working and convert complex operational problems into clear, practical solutions.

You will combine structured thinking, strong communication skills and commercial awareness with the ability to deliver in an international consulting environment.
