Job Description
Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience
Location: Woodchester (Gloucestershire) or Miskin (South Wales), with travel between Renishaw manufacturing sites.
We are recruiting three Business Unit Lead Planners to support our Assembly Business Units. This is a key leadership role responsible for planning, scheduling and material control activities that enable business growth, strong customer service and operational performance.
Working closely with Assembly Managers and Supply Functions, you will ensure demand, capacity, materials and inventory are aligned through a robust planning process, enabling timely decision-making and efficient delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning and materials management activities across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Manage a team of planners and material controllers, providing coaching, support and performance leadership.
- Ensure materials are available to support production plans and customer commitments.
- Monitor demand, capacity and inventory, identifying risks and driving solutions.
- Develop planning processes, governance and performance measures to improve operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics and warehousing teams to support business priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement across planning, stock management and material flow.
Key requirements
- Experience in planning, materials management, supply chain or manufacturing operations within an engineering or high-technology environment.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, capacity planning, inventory management and production scheduling.
- Experience leading teams and influencing stakeholders across a complex organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into practical business decisions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive, hands-on approach.

Person specification
We're seeking a positive and collaborative leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational delivery. You'll be confident influencing decisions, building strong relationships across multiple sites, and developing a high-performing team capable of supporting future business growth.
Travel within the UK, including occasional visits to our Ireland facility, will be required.
