Job Description
Overview
Over two days, you will work systematically through a defined map of the Carnival footprint. You will visit all kinds of businesses including:
- Pubs and bars
- Shops and independent retailers
- Convenience stores
- Hairdressers
- Beauty businesses
- Creative businesses
- Music venues
- Hotels
- Gyms
- Offices
- Faith organisations
- Other businesses and organisations operating within the Carnival area
A starting database and map will be provided. An important part of the job is identifying businesses that aren't already on our list. The objective is to account for every relevant business and venue operating within the defined Carnival footprint.
Responsibilities
- Introduce yourself and explain the research to the business.
- Have a short, friendly conversation with the business.
- Ask the key question: "What does your business do during Carnival weekend?"
- Understand business operations during Carnival, such as hours of operation, staffing, and promotions.
- Gather information on what works well and what could be improved for businesses.
- Explore whether businesses would like to become more involved with Carnival, including:
- Carnival promotions (special offers, food and drink promotions, etc.)
- Commercial partnerships (sponsorship, hospitality, etc.)

- Excellent communication skills
