Craft quality products and deliver outstanding service in a skilled butchery role.
Role Overview
As a Butcher at McGees NI, you'll play an important role in preparing high-quality meat products to customer and company specifications while delivering excellent service to customers. You'll help maintain the highest food safety and hygiene standards and support the smooth day-to-day running of a busy butchery counter.
Key Duties
- Prepare a range of meat cuts to customer and company specifications
- Provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service, helping customers make the most of their purchases
- Maintain the butchery counter and pre-pack areas to the highest hygiene and food safety standards
- Carry out stock rotation activities to ensure product freshness and availability
- Support product sampling activities and promotional initiatives
- Receive deliveries and complete all required documentation accurately
- Support general store operations and merchandising activities
- Provide cover and support for the Store Manager when required
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced in a retail butchery environment
- Committed to delivering excellent customer service
- Knowledgeable of legal and regulatory requirements relevant to butchery operations
- Able to work to high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Confident supporting and developing colleagues within the team
- Comfortable taking on supervisory responsibilities when required
- Flexible and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A strong communicator who can work independently and use their own initiative
