About the Role

Our Food Halls team are now looking for a Butcher to join our vibrant and bustling meat counter. You will be a product expert and be responsible for producing exceptional products and service to delight our customers whilst being a brand ambassador for Harrods.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accurate cuts, trims, bones, ties, and grinding of meats, using butcher's cutlery and powered equipment, such as electric grinder and band saw.
  • Portioning and preparing meat, and breaking down a forequarter, mid and hind quarter of beef into primal cuts.
  • Guaranteeing that the produce is always stored correctly and carrying out temperature checks on the product, recording data in line with food safety standards.
  • Ensuring that every opportunity to satisfy the customer has been explored.
  • Increasing sales by selecting products to meet customer requirements whilst highlighting the features and benefits of the product.
  • Working closely with the buying team to ensure that customer needs and expectations are being met with the products being stocked.

About You

  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced restaurant, sales or kitchen environment.
  • Great knowledge of margins, discounts, waste and shrink to ensure the business is maximising profit from every sale.
  • Awareness of the latest trends in the market and what our direct competitors are offering.
  • Accountability for consistently delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent merchandising skills and product offering to maintain freshness and customer appeal.
  • A good team player.
  • Energetic and proactive when approaching customers.
  • Exceptional communication skills to confidently convey the story of the product to the customer through exceptional product knowledge.
  • Reliable, hardworking and customer focused.
