The Role

The purpose of the Butcher role is to prepare meat products to customer specifications and ensure they are packed and presented to the highest standards ready for distribution.

You will play a key role in maintaining product quality, food safety, legality, and integrity while supporting the smooth operation of the production team.

We have three shifts available:

  • 16.00 – 01.00 Monday to Friday
  • 06.00 – 16.00 Monday to Friday
  • 07.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare meat products accurately to customer specifications.
  • Ensure the correct product is selected and supplied for each order.
  • Maintain high standards of butchery, presentation, and workmanship.
  • Focus on yield performance and minimize giveaway.
  • Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety requirements.
  • Prevent cross-contamination by following company procedures at all times.
  • Report any issues relating to raw materials, equipment, or product quality to the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensure stock is managed and rotated in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support operational efficiency and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous butchery experience.
  • Excellent knife skills and meat preparation experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Positive attitude and strong team-working skills.
  • Reliable, motivated, and committed to producing quality products.
  • Experience working within a food manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Knowledge of yield management and product specifications.
