Work with us at Riverford
Join a thriving employee-owned business as a Butchery Dispatch Team Member. Be part of an inclusive and friendly butchery production team.
More than just a veg box. Riverford are mad about organic veg. It's at the core of everything we do. We love to grow it, pack it into boxes, and deliver it to around 70,000 homes across the UK every week.
This takes loads of brilliant people and working here makes you a co-owner, since Riverford is employee-owned. Success means much more than just profits; we want this to be a place people enjoy coming to work, and a business our co-owners feel proud of!
We offer a bucket load of benefits:
- 33 days holiday pro rata (including bank holidays)
- 30% off veg boxes and our online shop
- Generous company pension scheme
- Annual profit share (at least 10% of all our profits are split equally between all co-owners)
Delivering even greener veg - We're in the process of swapping diesel vans to electric, with the ambitious goal of being 100% electric vans for low-emission deliveries to our customers!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you'll be doing
Most people know Riverford for our veg, but we also have our own organic butchery, delivering high-welfare British meat to homes all over the country. Our meat is organic, carefully sourced and properly prepared - hung for flavour, then butchered with skill and care.
Every week, our butchery produces over 20,000 packs of meat. The dispatch team is where it all comes together. This is the final step before our meat heads out to customers, and it involves sealing, weighing and labelling each pack, then making sure every load leaves on time and ready for the journey ahead.
As part of the team, you'll work alongside the Team Manager and your teammates to get the day's work done. You'll rotate between different tasks, learn new skills and muck in where needed - it's practical, hands-on work, and an important part of getting great food to people's doors.
