A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Buyer at Siemens Energy, you will play a pivotal role in our procurement team, ensuring that our purchasing processes are efficient and compliant with company standards. You will be responsible for managing the entire procurement cycle, from converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders to conducting negotiations with suppliers. Collaborating closely with internal customers and the supplier management team, you will ensure that all procurement activities align with business objectives and contribute to our overall success.

In this role, you will engage in strategic sourcing, where you will execute assigned commodity strategies and provide valuable recommendations to the Global Commodity Manager. Your efforts will directly impact our ability to secure the best suppliers and maintain high procurement quality, making your contributions essential to our operations. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment that values innovation and collaboration, allowing you to make a significant impact on our procurement processes.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Process Compliance: Ensure adherence to company processes and procedures, maintaining ERP compliance and data integrity within SAP.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Execute assigned commodity strategies and manage the sourcing process, providing recommendations to the Global Commodity Manager.
  • Supplier Management: Support supplier management processes, including qualification, selection, evaluation, and development, to ensure high procurement quality.
  • Customer Collaboration: Work closely with internal customers to ensure their needs are met and facilitate early involvement in procurement activities.
  • Standardization: Contribute to the implementation of globally defined methods and processes to enhance efficiency and compliance in procurement.
  • Negotiations: Prepare and conduct negotiations for medium purchasing volumes to achieve optimal savings.
  • Purchase Order Management: Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders, ensuring all documents are issued and maintained appropriately.
  • Invoice Resolution: Address minor invoice and commercial queries with suppliers, ensuring smooth procurement operations.

What You Bring

  • Experience: Proven experience in procurement functions, with a background in cross-functional teams within operations and engineering environments.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Energy, Oil, and Gas industry standards for onshore and offshore operations is desirable.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-changing global organizational environment.
  • Strategic Understanding: Good understanding of business strategy and plans to ensure alignment with procurement activities.
  • Operational Insight: Familiarity with operational management and quality processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in SAP and e-Procurement systems, with a creative and innovative mindset for developing business improvements.
  • Commercial Acumen: Practical experience in commercial and contractual matters is desirable.
