We have a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join our Procurement Team, based at our site in Dalton, Thirsk. This is a hybrid working role, and the working hours are Monday-Thursday 8:30-5:15 and Friday 8:30-3.
Vacancy Details
In the Buyer position you will become a key member of an established Group Procurement Team, ensuring the order placement of indirect consumables for numerous business units across multiple locations.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Managing inbound purchase requisitions from multiple production facilities and processing in a timely manner
- Placing orders against predetermined price list and supply agreements
- Obtaining quotations from pre-approved suppliers for items outside of our price agreements
- Expediting of orders and confirming expected delivery dates
- Ensuring systems and facilities are kept up to date with relevant information
- Review and sign off invoices to ensure prompt payment
- Provide holiday cover within the team

You will need to have previous experience working in a procurement function, with a good understanding of Supply Chain and general procurement practices.
You will have strong numerical, commercial and IT skills, excellent organisation and time management, and a keen eye for detail. A confident communicator at all levels, proactive in problem-solving, risk identification, and managing change.
