Hours: 08:00–16:30, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, on-site

Are you an experienced Buyer who enjoys the practical side of purchasing: placing orders, working with suppliers and making sure materials arrive when they are needed?

ISQ Recruitment is recruiting for an established engineering and manufacturing business in Norfolk. This is a hands-on role combining high-volume transactional purchasing with supplier sourcing, quotations and commercial discussions.

About The Role

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will manage purchasing requirements from initial request through to delivery. You will raise and progress purchase orders, confirm prices and lead times, and work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve shortages or delays.

You will support engineering, operations and project teams by helping to ensure that components, materials and services are available in line with operational deadlines.

Key duties

  • Raising purchase orders with approved suppliers and confirming prices, specifications and lead times.
  • Monitoring orders, expediting deliveries and escalating shortages or supply risks.
  • Resolving delivery, quality, invoice and goods-receipt queries.
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing information within the company’s ERP or MRP system.
  • Obtaining quotations, sourcing suppliers and supporting commercial negotiations when required.

What we are looking for

  • Experience of high-volume transactional purchasing within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing purchase orders from initial request through to delivery.
  • Confidence using ERP or MRP purchasing systems.
  • Good commercial awareness, organisation and attention to detail.
  • A practical approach to resolving supply issues and managing changing priorities.

A degree or NVQ Level 5 in a business or technical engineering subject would be beneficial. CIPS accreditation, or progress towards it, would also be useful but is not essential.

Benefits/package

The package includes 22 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, a workplace pension, private healthcare after completing the six-month probationary period and opportunities to progress within the business.
