Box Recruitment Group are recruiting for one of the fastest-growing online houseware retailers in the North West and the number one home retailer on TikTok. The business offers on-trend products for home and lifestyle at affordable prices, with a range including the latest bedding styles, soft towels, throws, curtains, rugs, and best-selling hoodie blankets. Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join the team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for owning the Product Development process for soft furnishings including bedding and filled bedding categories, ensuring we stay on trend and helping deliver the best products at affordable prices to customers.

Main Duties

  • Create commercial ranges that are right for our target consumer.
  • Analyse sales data highlighting best/worst performers and take appropriate action.
  • Control the Product Development process from initial ideas stage to launch, liaising with relevant departments throughout the course.
  • Managing Buying Administration Assistant to ensure deadlines for launch dates, etc. are met.
  • Oversee and sign off the sample process – lab dips/strike offs, red seals, and gold seals.
  • Strong understanding of our target consumer, competitors, and marketplace platforms.
  • Liaise with Far East factories to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Ensure we are achieving set launch dates.
  • Consistently keep up to date with new trends, colours, and fabrics.
  • Carrying out in-store and online competitor analysis and SWOT reports.
  • Communicating with the Ecommerce & other internal teams to help support campaigns and photo shoots.

Skills & Experience

  • Buying experience gained within an online or multichannel retailer (typically gained across several (3) years at Junior or buyer level.
  • Buying experience within home, seasonal or a comparable fast-paced and large category (they have over 700 skus).
  • Experience of managing critical path.
  • Direct experience of negotiating directly with suppliers on price and terms.
  • Experience of the sample and approval process.
  • Wide market awareness across Home Value Retailers in the market.
  • IT skills, including Excel.
