Main Objectives

Responsible for the timely order placement, supply, and expedition of raw materials, assemblies, and support services to maintain production. Managing select suppliers to ensure on-time delivery while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. Liaising with Engineering, Planning, Sales, and Manufacturing disciplines (team approach), highly focused on environmental and ethical trading considerations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and distribution of weekly expedite reports to selected supply chain partners, ensuring that all respond, and data is entered into the company ERP system.
  • Analyses exception messages from the ERP system, and places Purchase orders ensuring cost-effective timely delivery.
  • Preparation of document packs (electronic) in support of custom part order needs, (i.e., drawings, BOM’s, Gerber files) ready to submit to supply chain partners.
  • Manage selected suppliers to control inventories and ensure timely flow of material.
  • Develop a working knowledge of commodities and the associated supplier base.
  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of the required ERP system.
  • Bring ideas to management and be able to implement necessary process improvements.
  • Able and willing to work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines, travel when necessary.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
  • Responsibility for adhering to the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental, and Health and Safety management systems and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • CIPS Level 5
  • Strong IT skills and a good working knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • Advanced Microsoft analytical skills desired but not essential.
  • Experience in purchasing electronic or electro-mechanical parts desirable.
