Are you an experienced Buyer with a strong background within manufacturing or distribution?
Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a well-established business based in Burton-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional to take responsibility for purchasing activities, supplier relationships and ensuring the business has the right materials and products available at the right time and cost.
If you have a minimum of 5 years' buying experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment, this could be the role for you!

Qualifications
Essential:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a Buyer or similar purchasing role
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines

Desirable:
- Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing
- Experience with stock management, forecasting and purchase order processes
- Strong IT skills and experience using purchasing/ERP systems
- CIPS qualification or relevant procurement qualification
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day purchasing activities across the business
- Source and purchase materials, products and services in line with business requirements
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial terms with suppliers
- Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Monitor stock levels and purchasing requirements to ensure continuity of supply
- Work closely with internal teams including production, operations and logistics
- Identify opportunities to improve costs, supplier performance and purchasing processes
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues relating to quality, delivery or pricing

Requirements
As Buyer, you will also be expected to:
- Be commercially focused with a proactive approach to purchasing
- Have excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Be confident communicating and negotiating with suppliers
- Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment
- Have a hands-on approach and the ability to manage priorities independently
