Buyer - FMCG Household
Midlands | £Excellent salary plus car allowance
Ready for your next big move? Let's talk household, commercial strategy… and some seriously good buying.
Forget ticking boxes - this isn't just another Buyer role. We're looking for a commercially sharp, product-savvy Buyer to join our client's team and take ownership of a key Household FMCG category. This is your chance to shape the products customers rely on every day, build exciting ranges, negotiate great deals and make a real impact on the bottom line.
What's the gig?
You'll take ownership of the Household category, from spotting opportunities and developing ranges to negotiating with suppliers and driving commercial performance.
You'll be right at the heart of the action - balancing customer needs, market trends, margins, availability and commercial targets to make sure we're offering the right products at the right price, at the right time.
One day you could be analysing sales and market data, the next negotiating with suppliers, reviewing new product opportunities or working on the next big range launch. It's fast-paced, hands-on and never boring.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
