Your role
- Purchase MRO supplies and production commodities for manufacturing, engineering for internal use or resale
- Select world class suppliers and manage performance with quarterly KPI reporting
- Competitively quote and market test material (RFP, RFI, RFQ) on a rotating bases by commodity
- Develop contracts and release strategies for consistent and timely supply of material
- Understand the impact of material to inventory cost relationship and the effects on the business
- Understand the principles of Kanban and vendor managed inventories
- Ensure on time deliveries that meet the needs of engineering and manufacturing for internal or external customer requirements
- Negotiate with suppliers for the most competitive and cost-effective solution
- Coordinate Supplier on-site visits as needed or required
- Work with engineering team(s) to develop commodity strategies that reduces the supply base and enhances supplier relationships
- Consistently strive for cost savings equal to 3% of total spending.
- Consistently strive to improve material controller inventory turn by increasing delivery frequency or any other determined effective method

Four-year degree in any Business-related field is highly preferred. Will consider associate's degree with work experience

Ability to analyze data and recognize cost increases and decreases and their impact on the business

Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization

Strong communication skills in technical environment.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications to support sourcing activities and technical discussions with suppliers, Engineering, and R&D

Familiarity with CAD systems to facilitate effective communication and collaboration with suppliers, Engineering and R&D

- This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Plymouth, MI office.
