What is the role?

We are looking to recruit an experienced Buyer to join our Team. The Buyer will report to the manager of the Commercial team and will be responsible for the sourcing and ordering of various materials, achieving best possible value, and ensuring group deals are adhered to.

What You’ll Do As a Buyer

  • Material scheduling for multiple live and upcoming developments at any one time.
  • Calculating bulk quantities of bricks, blocks, and tiles required for each site and scheduling them with the manufacturer in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining and monitoring regional bulk material levels to ensure there are no shortfalls or over ordering.
  • Submitting material cost budgets to department surveyors and advising where large losses or stolen product has occurred.
  • Finally, you will need to work very closely alongside Site and Contract Managers to ensure requisitions are processed efficiently and site issues are overcome swiftly.

What experience do I need?

  • A confident and numerate professional who has previous Buyer experience within a construction company and can provide take offs from drawings
  • Be self-motivated, asks questions, wants to learn and has a good work ethic
  • Must be adaptable, have a strong and consistent management style with the site teams and supply chain
  • Must be proficient in Excel
  • Confident negotiation skills
  • Previous COINS experience is a distinct advantage
  • Full Driving licence is essential
