Tasks

  • Provide market competitive procurement solutions for the operating unit which demonstrate best overall value for money.
  • Provide an effective and professional service in the procurement of materials and supporting the work winning supply chain selection for the Bid team.
  • Support with the construction stage project procurement for Project Leader, including the production and driving of the procurement schedule, the development of work package documents in conjunction with project teams and work package procurement.
  • Support the supply chain management activities, including structuring the supply chain, carrying out performance and relationship management to drive improved performance/cost benefits.
  • Support activities that generate and encourage an efficient, productive and continuously improving supply chain performance.
  • Support the group procurement functional goals and objectives within the region.
  • Ensure supplier evaluation forms and risk assessments are maintained.
  • Providing a comprehensive procurement service for all projects.
  • Deliver a consistent procurement approach across all projects within the region from work winning / preconstruction stage.
  • Demonstrate best overall value for money in the procurement recommendations.
  • Ensure a robust negotiation process is applied in the engagement process.
  • Ensure contract arrangements and package details are comprehensive and protect the business in its dealings with suppliers.
  • Ensure decisions are not focused upon lowest price but overall best value for money.
  • Support the development of an accredited and structured supply chain that is aligned to the regional demands and overall strategy.
  • Input to the monitoring of the marketplace to ensure awareness of pricing trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Continuously seek out and assess new supply chain members to meet regional project demand.
  • Support the monitoring of the supply chain performance, workload and financial status to protect the corporate position.
  • Support the development of the supply chain, products and innovations that bring cost and/or buildability benefits.

  • Skills card - CSCS Card.
  • Experience of running supply chain events.
  • Experience with tendering process (Compete For etc).
  • Good product and supplier knowledge.
  • Good working knowledge of contracts.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of work practices, processes and procedures within the construction process from pre-construction stage and into construction stage.
  • MS package knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project).
