We are looking to recruit a Buyer or Assistant Buyer to join our Commercial Team in the East Midlands. The role of Buyer is to assist the Commercial team in the purchase of all materials in line with the exact requirements of the business by collating and analysing order requirements and supplier information. The Buyer is also to assist with the compliance of Group Purchasing Agreements and to develop dependable supply sources.

BUYER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production and distribution of tender enquiries for appropriate materials, collation and analysis of quotations ensuring compliance with budgets.
  • Placing of orders with suitable suppliers for specified materials ensuring materials are delivered with the required programme and purchased competitively.
  • Interaction with the supply chain to chase deliveries that may become overdue or urgent.
  • Technical support, inclusive of appropriate advice as required to the site construction team.

BUYER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience working as an Assistant Buyer, or Buyer, ideally within a Housebuilder or the wider Construction sector
  • Ability to understand commercial aspects of decisions.
  • Must be able to communicate well at all levels internally and externally to maintain effective working relationships.
  • An understanding of the principles and practice of the procurement function would also be beneficial
