Role Overview
A Buyer is required within a national energy infrastructure organisation responsible for maintaining and developing critical networks that support homes, businesses and industry across the UK. Their work plays a key role in delivering essential infrastructure projects while supporting long-term investment, sustainability and future energy solutions.
Responsibilities
In this role, you'll manage a varied portfolio of procurement and supply chain activities across multiple categories, supporting the delivery of regional projects and operational requirements. You'll lead end-to-end sourcing exercises including:
- Market engagement
- Tender preparation
- Supplier evaluation
- Negotiation
- Contract award

While ensuring compliance with internal governance and commercial objectives. Responsibilities will also include:
- Supplier relationship management
- Contract administration
- Performance monitoring
- Spend analysis
- Identifying opportunities to improve value, efficiency and supply chain resilience
You'll work closely with operational and commercial stakeholders, supporting project delivery through effective procurement strategies and robust contract management practices. Hybrid working is available, with occasional travel to offices, supplier locations and project sites as required.
Requirements
You'll require experience managing sourcing and procurement processes, strong commercial awareness, contract management exposure and the ability to build effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Experience within infrastructure, engineering, utilities, energy or similarly regulated environments would be advantageous.
