Buyer Specialist – Indirect Procurement

Location: Newcastle
Contract: 12 months
Working Pattern: Mostly onsite, with occasional flexibility for 4 days in office / 1 day remote

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Buyer Specialist to support indirect procurement activities, working across suppliers, purchasing, sourcing and contract management. Full procurement experience is not essential, as training will be provided. Candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support sourcing and procurement activities across indirect commodities.
  • Manage RFQs, purchase orders and supplier processes.
  • Support supplier selection, performance management and negotiations.
  • Work with internal teams to deliver cost and process improvements.
  • Maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Junior profile – less than 5 years’ experience.
  • 1–2 years’ procurement/supply chain experience preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong organisation, listening and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and willing to learn.
  • Ability to work onsite and be flexible with occasional remote working.
  • Valid UK work permit required.
  • Degree is not mandatory.
  • Technical background is not required.
