Are you a Buyer from a manufacturing background looking to join an established business where you will take ownership of the full procurement process, manage key suppliers, deliver cost savings, and play a key role in improving the company's purchasing strategy?
This established specialist manufacturer provides monitoring and telemetry solutions for clean water and wastewater networks, supplying customers across the UK and international markets. Established in the 1970's, the business designs and manufactures a range of specialist technology used to monitor and manage critical water infrastructure, helping customers improve network efficiency, reduce water loss and maintain reliable services.
In this role, you will manage the procurement of direct and indirect goods and services, taking ownership of sourcing, supplier management, negotiation and contract management through to delivery. You will work closely with internal departments and suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor supplier performance, manage risk and improve procurement processes. You will also use advanced Excel and data analysis to monitor spend, benchmark costs and support commercial decision-making across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
