As a result of our continued growth and ongoing success, we are seeking a dynamic Buyer to join our Head Office team in Plymouth.

About the role:

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Buyer to manage our customer offer. You will work closely with the Head of Buying to enhance The Ranges offering. Developing relationships with new and existing Suppliers whilst ensuring maximum value and efficiency for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Maximizing Sales, Margin & Profitability: You will have primary accountability for maximizing sales, margin & profitability in this fast moving and diverse category.
  • Team Leadership: You will lead a team building long term supplier relationships to deliver a successful product offer.
  • Product Strategy Implementation: You will have ultimate responsibility for the implementation of the product strategy and ensuring that the business meets with customer needs.
  • Market Monitoring: You will monitor & review competitor information to ensure your product offering stays relevant in a changing market.
  • Lead Role in Reviews & Negotiations: You will play a lead role in range reviews, supplier negotiations, promotions & pricing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work with your cross-functional team to ensure we deliver great product availability and quality.

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Experience: You need will need to have experience of buying.
  • Industry Experience: You will need FMCG experience.
  • Market Understanding: Have developed an excellent understanding of the consumer and of the marketplace.
  • Work Environment: Have the ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Strategic Thinking: Have developed first rate strategic and analytical thinking skills.
  • Team Player: A true team player underpinned with great interpersonal skills.
  • Relationship Building: Have the ability build relationships and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
