Position Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Buyer working as part of the Purchasing team reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- An experienced buyer to manage and control the Purchase of goods, Indirect materials and Maintenance services. As part of a growing global supply chain you would manage local production requirements, along with assisting our global Purchasing team.

Key Accountabilities For This Role Include
- Evaluate and benchmark market prices and other opportunities to secure reduced long term prices
- Assess supplier products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet quality standards
- Analyse and evaluate supplier bids, tenders, proposals or quotations
- Negotiate prices, delivery conditions/incoterms and commit to purchases with terms that are in the company’s best interest
- Interpret inventory requests, production schedules, purchase requisitions, orders and other documents to co-ordinate purchasing activities daily
- Monitor KPIs and hold regular business review meetings with suppliers
- Achieve year on year spend savings
- Work collaboratively with internal customers (engineering, finance, stores, production - etc)

Required Education & Qualifications
- Experience of purchasing in a manufacturing industry
- Able to demonstrate good communication skills, both internally and externally across all levels.
- Ability to analyse data and charts, and propose effective policies
- Excel/ Word/ PowerPoint and Outlook office skills
- Able to demonstrate supply chain management principles across a diverse supplier base.
- Ability to demonstrate a track record of cost reduction achievements through price negotiation or partnering with suppliers to engineer out cost of the product or supplier process.
- CIPS qualification would be an advantage
- SAP functional knowledge and usage would be an advantage
