Buyer Job Opportunity at Love & Roses – NEXT Wholly Owned Brands

About the Role
The Buyer is responsible for developing and agreeing on a departmental business plan, overseeing a profitable product range, and driving sales while nurturing team performance.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Range Planning
- Align range planning with future trends—considering construction, pricing, and seasonal cycles.
- Collaborate with Merchandisers and Designers to refine supplier strategies and identify sourcing needs.
- Analyse customer data across retail, web, franchise, and wholesale to shape product recommendations.
- Construct seasonal stories via colour palettes and key item selections to guide the Brand Strategy Board.
- Negotiate prices and secure supplier contracts while meeting commercial goals.

Product Quality & Brand Alignment
- Own Option-to-Buy (OTB) counts, pricing, and quality adjustments—mitigate returns through supplier collaboration.
- Communicate buying and design vision across Full Phase Reviews to ensure consistency.
- Present samples in edit meetings to gain stakeholder agreement.
Trading & Supplier Management
- Monitor weekly sales trends, late orders, and unexplored opportunities.
- Work closely with Merchandisers to recommend product modifications for better financial performance.
- Ensure suppliers meet deadlines by assessing capabilities and managing relationships (costs, quality, deliveries).
- Conduct seasonal supplier reviews and build a strong supplier network.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, inspire, and develop the team through regular training and wellness initiatives.
- Manage workloads effectively—prioritising tasks against deadlines.
- Provide performance coaching and feedback.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Experience as a Junior Buyer/Buyer in womenswear with expertise in relevant product categories.
- Proven track record in team management and talent development.
- Demonstrates inspirational passion, commercial acumen, and ability to drive results.
- Strong supplier management skills with adaptability for reactive changes.
- Organisational agility—balancing long-term strategy with timely responsiveness.
