Buyer Loughborough
Excellent opportunity for a proven Buyer to join an established engineering business.
Responsible for identifying and sourcing new suppliers to ensure material costs are reduced where possible. Specific metals / fabrication knowledge would be an advantage, but we can look at buyers from a manufacturing or engineering background in general. Fantastic working culture and tenure amongst the team. Very friendly and supportive environment. A company that is investing across the business to ensure they continue to grow. This is an opportunity to join at an exciting time where you can make positive changes throughout purchasing.
Due to continued growth, we are working in partnership with an established engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced Buyer to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional with a track record of identifying and sourcing new suppliers to help reduce material costs. As prices can vary at short notice, the role is fast paced in nature. Strong communication skills and relationship building with suppliers are both important qualities for this role as you will liaise with multiple contacts across all levels on a daily basis.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
