Buyer | FMCG | Convenience

St Albans | Hybrid | up to £60k plus car allowance

Ready to take ownership of a high-profile buying role where you can genuinely make an impact?

We're working with one of the UK's fastest-growing convenience retail businesses, and they're looking for a Buyer to join their busy Trading team.

With a huge store estate across the UK and an ambitious growth strategy, this is a brilliant opportunity for a commercially minded Buyer who loves the pace of convenience retail and wants plenty of ownership.

So, what's the role?

You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of FMCG, retail and convenience categories, working closely with suppliers to build strong relationships and deliver the best possible commercial results.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience across FMCG, convenience, forecourt, retail or wholesale would be ideal.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, challenging the norm and getting stuck into a fast-paced environment.

Why this one?

This isn't a role where you'll be hidden away in a huge corporate structure. You'll have real ownership, visibility and influence, working alongside an experienced commercial team in a business that is growing, evolving and doing things differently.

If you're ambitious, commercially driven and ready for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
