Our client is one of the largest UK-owned Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEM), supplying EMS and supply chain services to leading technology companies across the UK and Europe. Operating from a modern, clean environment, they support customers in high-precision sectors including commercial, space, defence, transport, audio, motorsport, and instrumentation.

As they open a brand-new, world-class facility, they are looking for a talented professional to join them on this exciting growth journey.

We are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to deliver value through strategic cost savings, high quality, and timely delivery. In this role, you will enjoy a flexible hybrid working structure while managing the inventory site of goods and materials, coordinating closely with suppliers to ensure everything arrives on time and at the best possible cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • RFQ Management: Prepare, issue, and follow up on the full Request for Quotation process.
  • Quote Analysis: Collect and compare supplier quotes to secure the best value for the business.
  • Order Progression: Place and progress purchase orders, actively resolving any delivery delays.
  • Supplier Relations: Maintain regular communication with vendors to track orders and build strong partnerships.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor supplier on-time delivery KPIs and escalate concerns to the Procurement Manager.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain accurate vendor records, including contact details, payment policies, and services.
  • Sourcing Support: Assist in identifying and onboarding new potential suppliers.
  • Process Improvement: Spot and implement opportunities for cost savings and workflow efficiency.
  • Compliance: Conduct thorough reviews of supplier documentation with a high level of attention to detail.

  • System Expertise: Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems is essential.
  • Industry Background: Previous experience purchasing electronics or electronic components is highly preferred.
  • End-to-End Purchasing: Proven ability to manage the full purchasing lifecycle from RFQ to final delivery.
  • Commercial Acumen: Experienced in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services.
  • IT Literacy: Strong competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for detail when reviewing documentation and data.
