The Opportunity
Are you a commercially sharp tech enthusiast with a vision for building brands? We are seeking a resilient Buyer to lead and revolutionise our assortment of accessible, high-utility consumer electronics - not the premium flagship devices, but the everyday gadgets that solve modern consumer needs—spanning charging solutions, personal audio, smart home devices, travel accessories, and personal mobility.
This technology category across two of the UK’s well-known high-street names: Ryman and Robert Dyas, will be a high-impact role where you will hold end-to-end accountability for launching a brand-new exclusive private label from scratch while optimising our growing branded proposition. What You’ll Do
- Strategic Architecture: Build a dual-brand tech strategy that defines unique product positioning for Ryman and Robert Dyas.
- Own-Brand Innovation: Lead the end-to-end launch of a new private-label tech brand, from factory sourcing in the Far East to go-to-market execution.
- Commercial Leadership: Full P&L ownership, delivering on sales, margin, and stock targets across stores and e-commerce.
- Global Sourcing: Negotiate complex terms with global suppliers to ensure high-quality, compliant, and high-margin assortments.
What You’ll Bring
- Tech Expertise: Significant buying experience in consumer electronics, gadgets, or travel tech.
- Product Development: A proven track record of sourcing and launching successful private-label products.
- Resilience: A self-starter attitude with the ability to influence stakeholders and thrive in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Analytical Rigour: Advanced P&L understanding and strong negotiation capabilities.
