Proven experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment.

A leading global manufacturing business are currently recruiting for a Buyer on a full time, Permanent basis in Pulborough, West Sussex.

Role - Buyer
Type - Permanent
Location - Pulborough, West Sussex (Hybrid available after probation, 3 days onsite)

Key responsibilities for the Buyer will include and will not be limited to:

  • Place purchase orders in line with ERP requirements to support production and project deadlines
  • Expedite material supply with selected suppliers and produce weekly expedite reports
  • Analyse ERP exception messages and take action to prevent shortages and maintain flow of materials
  • Manage selected suppliers to improve on time delivery and control inventory levels
  • Prepare and issue electronic document packs to support custom part orders (for example drawings, BOMs and related files)
  • Liaise closely with Engineering, Planning, Sales and Manufacturing to support delivery priorities
  • Contribute to process improvements and support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and health and safety requirements

Key skills and experience required for Buyer job applicant and will not be limited to:

  • Experience in a Buyer or purchasing role supporting manufacturing or production environments
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and confident use of MS Office
  • Ability to manage supplier relationships and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical approach to problem solving and decision making
  • Organised, proactive and able to work to tight deadlines with a sense of urgency
  • High standards of integrity, ethical working and commitment to environmental considerations
