Buyer – Retail
£58,000 + car allowance + bonus
Hybrid (3 days office, 2 remote)
A well established UK retailer is after a Buyer who's done this before and isn't looking to be told how. You'll take on a category outright, own it, and be judged on how it performs, not on how many meetings you sat in.
This isn't a business that needs someone to learn the ropes. It's one that needs someone who already knows what good range planning looks like, who can sit opposite a supplier and walk out with better terms, and who treats the P&L for their category like it's their own money.

What the job actually involves
You'll run range planning end to end for your category, decide what goes in, what comes out, and why. Supplier negotiations sit with you, along with the ongoing relationship management that keeps costs moving in the right direction. You'll be pulling apart sales and market data regularly to work out where the opportunity is, then acting on it. Merchandising, marketing and supply chain will all expect you to bring a clear plan to the table, not wait for one from them.

- You've bought for a retailer before, ideally multi-site or online, and know the pace that comes with it
- You negotiate for a living and you're good at it, not just comfortable with it
- You can look at a spreadsheet of sales data and know within minutes what it's telling you

The offer
£58,000 base, car allowance, performance bonus, and a hybrid split of three days in the office and two from home.
