A leading chemical manufacturer is seeking a Buyer to join their dedicated procurement team.

This role offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the smooth sourcing and supply of materials, products, and services essential for business operations across UK and Europe. What You'll Do:

As a Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and services required for daily operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure timely procurement of goods and services that meet quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms that are beneficial for both parties.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings, improved quality, or enhanced service levels.
  • Prepare purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any issues related to supply chain disruptions or delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to share insights, discuss challenges, and contribute ideas for process improvements.

What You Bring:

The ideal candidate for the Buyer position brings a wealth of experience from previous roles within procurement or purchasing environments. Your skill set includes:

  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles with a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to build strong relationships with suppliers as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail ensuring accuracy in preparing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining records.
  • Ability to analyse market trends helps identify opportunities for cost savings or improved service levels.
  • Familiarity with financial processes supports accurate invoice handling and adherence to budgets.
  • Collaborative approach makes you an asset during team meetings where sharing insights leads to process improvements.
