About The Role
- Undertake full range of procurement activities including obtaining supplier prices, tendering negotiation and purchase order placement.
- Assist in the procurement of higher value and more complex commodities.
- Provision of dedicated support to senior staff in commodity area.
- Target specific goods, services and/or suppliers to identify how tangible improvements may be made in the procurement of these goods and services.

Your Experience And Skills
This is an entry-level Buyer role and previous procurement experience is not essential. We are looking for candidates who have a basic understanding of procurement, an interest in developing a career in commercial and procurement, and/or an enthusiasm for the rail industry. Full training and support will be provided to help the successful candidate develop their knowledge and skills.
Essential
- Commercial experience and aptitude.
- Understanding of procurement processes.
Desirable
- Knowledge of procurement and competition legislation, procurement procedures, processes, systems and controls.
- Membership or training for qualifications in relevant professional institution.
