We are Disturbia; a fast growing, independent UK fashion brand specialising in alternative & sub-culture fashion, with an aim to harness the spirit of authenticity and individuality.

Our story is to about evolving and disrupting the ordinary. Founded in 2003 by creative graduates Frank and Helen, we look to disturb the suburbs’ with authentically unconventional attire for those drawn to the strange and unusual. Disturbia has since amassed a devoted following worldwide, attracting musicians, artists and free spirits alike.

Over 20 years later, we are an ever growing team across offices in Northumberland (HQ) and East London. Our in-house team of creatives, do-ers, dreamers, and makers work collaboratively to create unique products and to deliver an exceptional customer experience for those who dare to stand out from the crowd.

THE ROLE

As Disturbia continues to grow, the need has arisen to hire a Buying Admin Assistant.

This is an entry level buying position, which acts as a support role on specific buying categories. You will work on multiple product categories; supporting the system admin, sample admin and supplier management. You will work closely with the Assistant Buyers and Buyers and other product focused departments.

Key Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • PO Management: Raising and amending Purchase Orders and creating PO overviews
  • Sample Management: preparing and organising samples for fits, sign off meetings, rack ups and photo shoot campaigns. Manage the library of lab dips and strike offs.
  • Critical path management: Ensure key dates are met, chasing up any issues with suppliers.
  • System Management: updating information consistently and correctly to our systems; Centric and Microsoft Business Central.
  • Supplier Management: Working daily with overseas suppliers and building strong trustworthy relationships
  • Admin tasks: Supporting the wider buying team with ad hoc buying tasks
    • Ensuring smooth running of the department, and assisting buying team with day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Market Analysis support: undertaking weekly comparative shopping/bench-marking reports.
  • Post management: Managing the high volume of deliveries coming and going between our offices.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

ABOUT YOU

  • A desire to have a career in buying is a must.
  • A degree in fashion or past experience in a fashion environment, ideally with experience directly related to buying
  • Hyper organised and efficient
  • Able to multi-task, prioritise and work at pace
  • Confidence, self-motivation, and tenacity are essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of the fashion industry
  • Strong, clear, and competent communication skills
  • High level of competency with reporting platforms and spreadsheets
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Good time management skills
