Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Closing date: 7th August 2026

Recruitment Partner: Katrina, katrina.wuk@boots.co.uk

Our sourcing team brings a broad and diverse range of products to life for our retailers, brands and most importantly, our customers.

Our global sourcing operation is the power behind The Boots Group retailers and brands.

Our team of more than 400 people are located throughout Asia, and the UK, putting us at the heart of the markets we serve and close to our suppliers. The combination of the team’s expertise and the breadth and diversity of our supplier base enables Global Sourcing to bring to life an extraordinarily broad range of products from beauty and healthcare to groceries and toys, with a specialty in the development of owned brand and consumer brand products.

With a razor-sharp focus on product quality, the Global Sourcing team supports delivery against our ambitious sustainability targets through initiatives such as packaging reduction and the eradication of single-use plastic. We also reduce the volume of goods shipped around the world by manufacturing products locally in the regions where they will be sold. Critically, we ensure we only work with suppliers that consistently demonstrate compliance with our ethical sourcing requirements.

The Buying Assistant is a critical role within the EU Global Sourcing team and is responsible for supporting the Buying team in all aspects of managing sourcing and commercial activities.

Reporting to a Buying Manager, you will initially be responsible for a wide range of key activities supporting the sourcing/buying team, such as data analysis, supplier negotiation preparation, and execution of tenders, supplier performance reporting and working with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will be a cross-functional team player, who is analytical in approach, has excellent Excel skills and presentation capabilities, and is able to demonstrate clear communication and organisation, showing enthusiasm and flexibility.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
