Buying Assistant

Birmingham
Up to £30,000 DOE

I am currently recruiting for a Buying Assistant to join a well-established retailer to join the team based within their Midlands head office. You will be responsible for assisting the Buying Team to ensure continued growth within the category. As a Buying Assistant, you will need to be driven and dynamic and thrive working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support to the Buying department
  • Creating new product listings on the system
  • Raising and inputting supplier invoices
  • Assisting in collating promotional information from suppliers to build the promotional pack for each category
  • Collating and inputting supplier information
  • Work cross-functionally with Buying & logistics to ensure departmental relationships are maintained
  • Liaising with internal customers, suppliers, and other departments
  • Reviewing pricing & analysing figures within Excel
  • Maintaining data records and files

Key Requirements

  • Experience within Buying or a relevant degree
  • Highly accurate with a good attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a varied workload with conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
  • Good level of education – degree is preferable
  • Excellent understanding of all MS Office products, specifically Excel
