BUYING ASSISTANT | RAPIDLY GROWING BRAND | OFFICE BASED | BEAUTY | £28,000-£30,000
We're looking for an organised and commercially minded Buying Assistant to join a fast-growing beauty business and support the Buying team across a broad range of categories.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with Buying, Merchandising, E-commerce, NPD and suppliers to make sure products move smoothly from development through to launch. It's a great opportunity for someone looking to build their career within Buying and gain broad exposure to the full product lifecycle.
What You'll Be Doing
- Working closely with NPD teams to support the development of commercially viable products.
- Researching market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Managing the critical path and ensuring key deadlines are met.
- Requesting and checking product information, pricing and specifications from suppliers.
- Creating and processing purchase orders.
- Tracking orders, shipments and delivery dates, proactively chasing updates where required.
- Supporting the setup and maintenance of product information, including SKUs, descriptions and barcodes.
- Working closely with Merchandising and E-commerce to ensure products launch on time and are ready to trade.
- Producing weekly sales reports and monitoring product performance.
- Supporting the Buyer with category reviews and trading activity.
- Helping to create and improve processes across the Buying function.
- Managing general Buying administration and responding effectively to ad-hoc priorities.

What We're Looking For
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, particularly when working with suppliers and internal teams.
- A practical, proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes products successful.
- Previous experience working closely with Buying, Merchandising or other cross-functional teams would be beneficial.
