We're looking for a driven and commercially minded Buying Assistant to join our Purchasing team in Normanton. Working closely with the Purchasing Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting supplier relationships, sourcing products, analysing pricing opportunities, and helping deliver value across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills who enjoys working with data, suppliers, and commercial decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting sourcing and supplier negotiations.
- Researching and sourcing products for customer-specific requirements and tender opportunities.
- Analysing pricing proposals and presenting recommendations.
- Managing purchasing reports and product data.
- Monitoring competitor activity and market trends.
- Supporting supplier performance reviews and procurement projects.
- Managing cost price updates and commercial pricing information.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience building and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Confidence working with data and producing reports.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:
- Product sourcing experience.
- Experience supporting customer tenders.
- Knowledge of importing products.
- Experience within the business supplies or procurement sector.
