Buying Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Buying Assistant to work based in Billericay, Essex on a full-time, permanent basis.

Primary purpose:

To provide accurate admin support to the Buying teams, contributing towards the smooth cycle of the buying process. A systems expert and super user offering training and support to the Buying teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier correspondence including ticket files, labelling details, and any new agreed actions from the Buying team to agreed deadlines
  • Raise validated POs from Range Plan and send the PO sheet to the supplier
  • Authorize any further amendments required to PO’s on Mercatus and re-issue PO sheet to supplier where necessary
  • Update event tracking comments weekly with agreed actions from the Buying teams and update on Mercatus
  • Cross reference product and order details to check packing scans, updating the system, and logging the most up-to-date product image in the library
  • Monitor housekeeping reports, highlighting issues with Buyer and make amendments to Mercatus as necessary
  • Collate and pull information on new reactions and top 30’s to share with Buying team, Add product images to Trade sheets
  • Support facilities with managing all DHL enquiries & deliveries to ensure packages are sent and received weekly
  • Assist with sample management including filing of samples post approval
  • Build new data reports for Buying teams to support consistent and efficient ways of working
  • Systems experts and ‘super users’
  • Training new starters and supporting Buying with system capability and knowledge gaps within the team
  • Complete price-point data spreadsheets when requested by Buying teams
  • Prepare & card samples on boards for host meetings, ensuring presentation is professional (where/when required)
  • Support with on-boarding of new brands where required

Skills and qualifications:

  • Good working ability with relevant IT systems (Microsoft Office).
  • Competent numerical skills which help contribute to negotiating and trading.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate competently and clearly, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational and task management skills
