C# Desk Developer (Contract) | Front Office Trading Technology | Investment Bank

London | £650 per day (via Umbrella)

The Role

A leading global investment banking team is looking for a contract C# developer to join a front office technology function supporting a rates trading business in London.

This is a desk-facing engineering role where you'll work closely with traders and technology teams to improve critical trading tools, strengthen platform stability, and help move tactical solutions towards a more scalable long-term architecture. The environment is fast-moving, highly collaborative, and offers direct exposure to front office workflows.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Build and enhance business-critical applications used by trading teams.
  • Design and deliver scalable solutions that replace tactical processes and legacy tooling.
  • Develop functionality supporting risk management, P&L reporting, and trading workflows.
  • Provide hands-on support for production applications used by front office stakeholders.
  • Work closely with global technology teams and business users to prioritise and deliver enhancements.
  • Help improve engineering standards, automation, reliability, and operational efficiency across the platform.

What You Bring

  • Strong commercial development experience using C# and.NET technologies.
  • Experience working within front office, trading, or capital markets environments.
  • Good understanding of financial products such as rates, fixed income, equities, or related asset classes.
  • Ability to work directly with business users and translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Experience supporting and enhancing production trading applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to delivery.
