C++ Developer

Location: Manchester

Salary: £40,000–£55,000

Working Pattern: Onsite

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced C++ Developer to join a leading technology organisation, working within a high-performing team delivering advanced software and security solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, contributing to the development and enhancement of sophisticated products and capabilities. You’ll work in an agile environment, be exposed to new technologies and approaches, and have the opportunity to keep your skills current while taking on new challenges.

The opportunity:

  • Develop and enhance advanced software products and capabilities
  • Work with modern C++ standards, third-party and open-source software
  • Develop high-performance software using concurrency techniques
  • Work within a Linux development environment, including build systems, compilers, tools, kernel and drivers
  • Work with computer networking and deep packet inspection technologies
  • Support and troubleshoot deployed systems remotely
  • Work as part of a high-performing Agile Scrum team
  • Collaborate with international customers, end users, and support team

What we're looking for from you:

  • Strong experience developing software in C++
  • Knowledge of modern C++ standards, performance-focused development, and concurrency techniques
  • Detailed knowledge of Linux development, including build systems, tools, compilers, kernel, and drivers
  • Good understanding of computer networking and deep packet inspection
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, DHCP, and tunnelling protocols such as GTP, MPLS, and L2TP
  • Experience with complementary technologies such as Python, Ruby, Puppet, and Bash
  • Experience working within an Agile Scrum environment and familiarity with tools such as Jira
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting systems remotely
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and step outside your comfort zone
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire for continuous personal and team improvement
